Our Operations

All job roles within geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine have one thing in common: it is meaningful, exciting, and developing to work in our field. Our tools are science and proven experience, and we have the combined resources of Akademiska sjukhuset at our disposal. We are constantly working on improvements and have developed working methods where the patient is at the center and the competence of all professions is utilized.

We are now looking for more assistants in the geriatrics section who can primarily work with supervision tasks. Our inpatient departments are the orthopedic geriatrics department 30B and the geriatric emergency department 30A.

Your Mission

As an assistant, you primarily work with the task of supervision, which means working closely and having constant oversight of a specific patient. This could be a patient who needs supervision for:

• Preventing falls.
• Medical safety. Supervision to prevent important entrances and exits from being drawn through a diversionary purpose.
• End-of-life care. To ensure good care during the patient's final time.

As an assistant with supervision tasks, you participate in tasks related to the patient's care and support needs. This may involve accompanying the patient to the toilet, assisting with hygiene and dressing, as well as helping with meals and meaningful activities, etc. If you have completed the third term of the nursing program or the sixth term of the medical program, you can also be trained and work as a nursing assistant with nursing tasks in a care team. We will tell you more about this when we possibly meet for an interview.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is studying in a healthcare profession, such as the medical program, nursing program, or as a nursing assistant. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in care and have a calm and empathetic approach. You must also be at least 18 years old to apply for this hourly position.

Your Competence

You are secure, have self-awareness, and have the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional. You work well with others, are attentive, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. The role requires you to have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation. You have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you strive to deliver solutions.
